The most effective schools are those that have parents who are involved in the educational program. We have enjoyed a very high level of support from parents in the past, and we look forward to every year developing an even closer relationship.

We are in our fifth year with a Reading First grant, funded through No Child Left Behind. This grant provides funding and professional development for teachers in grades K through 3 to improve instruction in reading.

We recently implemented Responsive Classroom and Positive Behavior Supports through a MiBLSi grant. These initiatives provide us with tools to support character education and social skills.

We hope that you will find Oakview to be a great place to learn. The members of the staff really care about kids and work very hard to help everyone learn.
