Writing Prompts

Writing has become a central focus for our school, district, state, and nation.  We are working on raising scores for all students, and particularly for boys, whose writing scores have been significantly lower on standardized writing tests.

 

Each week your child will have a MEAP-like writing prompt for homework.  These will be graded using the MEAP rubric and your child will receive a 1-6 score, with 6 indicating excellence.   We have included two links so that parents can better understand what each number indicates.  One is the State MEAP Rubric, and the other is a student friendly MEAP rubric.
