welcome

We are starting second semester.  You may notice that your child is starting to develop their thinking skills.  This is the age when they are able to grasp more abstract thoughts.  They begin to realize everything is not black and white.  It is an exciting time for them.  You may also notice some new behaviors.  At this age they are wanting to become more independent but they are not always ready.

By the end of third grade we hope that all students will

  • Be able to add and subtract with regrouping
  • Pass an addition and subtraction mad minute
  • Be able to multiply and divide with one digit numbers
  • Pass a multiplication  mad minute
  • Be able to read 110 words per minute
  • Be able to pass a comprehension test on a story
  • Be able to write a personal story using the writing process
