Welcome to First Grade and the 2009-10 School Year!!

My name is Mindy Curtis, first grade teacher, and I am excited to work with all of my first grade students and their families.  This is my fifth year teaching at Muskegon Public Schools and my third year here at Nims School.  I am married with a 3-year-old daughter, and have another daughter on the way- due to arrive in March.  I look forward to a great year of partnering with parents, grandparents, and families to help your children succeed and grow academically and socially. 

 

Curtis Specials Schedule for 2009-2010

Monday- no specials today

Tuesday- Art 8:40-9:25 (Library 3:05-3:25)

Wednesday- P.E. (gym) 8:40-9:20 (please wear or bring gym shoes)

Thursday- Computers 8:40-9:25

Friday- Music 12:25-1:05

 

 

Important Dates:

March 10th- NO SCHOOL Teacher Professional Development Day

March 24-25- Spring Conferences

March 26th- Half day of school a.m. only. 

March 29th Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS) begins.  Please make sure your child is at school on time, has plenty of sleep, and a good breakfast for testing this week.

March 29th at 12:30- Field Trip to Frauenthal Theatre to see "Rumplestiltskin: Ultimate Bully"

April 2-9 Spring Break 

May 3rd Brainstormers Writing Assembly in the Nims Gym 

May 6th NO SCHOOL Teacher Professional Development Day May 28th Half Day a.m. Hackley Day 

May 31 No School Memorial Day
