Welcome to Mrs. Roesler's Classroom
Mrs. Dawn Roesler
MRS. ROESLER CLASSROOM
5 th grade
I always wanted to be a teacher since I was little. The neighbor kids and I used to play school and I was always the teacher.
For my education I went to Western. I received a MASTERS IN READING.
I am married and I have two wonderful daughters. Their names are Morgan and Madison. My husband is a fireman for the City of Muskegon. He helps families out right in our own neighborhood.
Feel free to stop in anytime for questions or to help out.
If you have any questions or need to contact me, you can reach me on my blog.
We are working on fraction board games for our Celebration of Learning. Come join us on May 27, 2010 from 5-7. Lower elementary will be presenting first and then upper elementary will be presenting second followed by dinner. We would love for you to come see our board games and play them with us.
Our main focus in reading right now is fluency and comprehension. Fluency is how many words your child can read in a minute. Our goal for grade is 126 words per minute. Please read with your child at home. You can even time them for a minute to see how they are doing on their fluency. Our class will start small reading groups in January. We will work on our fluency in our small reading groups. We will be doing Reading Workshop that goes along with Writing Workshop this year.
We are working on our Essay unit. We will continue again this year with Units of Writing.
We are working on adding and subtracting fractions with unlike denominators. Once we have found our answers we need to make sure that they are in their simplest form.
We are in an exciting science unit right now. We have hermit crabs and tree frogs in our room that we are observing.
