American Indian Education
The Title IX Indian Education Program is a federally funded program that addresses the specific educational and culturally related needs of American Indian students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
The Indian Education program offers:
- Parental support assistance
- Cultural classes
- Referrals for academic tutoring
- Community agency and social programs assistance
Cultural Classes:
Cultural classes are held when school is in session. Classes include instruction on a variety of topics, including traditional arts, language, cooking, jewelry making, and regalia making. Various age-appropriate activities are available.
Participation:
Participation in the programs is open to any student of American Indian ancestry who attends a public school or public school academy within the Muskegon, Muskegon Heights, Mona Shores, Oakridge, and Orchard View School Districts.
