Meet Miss Reed
Hi! I am Miss Reed, speech and language pathologist. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor's of Arts and Master's of Arts degrees. I've also completed coarse work beyond the Master's level at Eastern Michigan University in the area of the dual language learner. This is my 38th year with Muskegon Public Schools. I have just about worked in every school in the district through the years! I have also worked in the rehabilitation department of Mercy Hospital. This year I provide services to Moon, Bluffton, M-Tec Headstarts, Oakview kindergarten, and pre-kindergarten housed at M-Tec.
I play the great Highland Bagpipes with the Muskegon Regional Police Pipe and Drum Band. My 16 year old daughter and I enjoy traveling and the beach! We have two dogs and a rabbit.
Here at Moon school , the "therapy" room is known as the "Chit-Chat Clubhouse". The kids use member passes to enter my room. It makes them feel exclusive and not so different.
Later, I will be explaining how a child qualifies for services and the different areas of speech and language that a speech pathologist will treat.
