The McLaughlin school family, a member of Muskegon Public Schools, is honored to have
you visit our site. Our number one goal is to ensure that students receive a quality education
by focusing on enhancing academic and social skills, within the confines of a safe and
orderly environment.
Parent and community involvement is of crucial importance with helping McLaughlin's
staff achieve this goal. We do encourage our parents and our community to become involved with
McLaughlin School. Our welcome mat is always before the door. Working together, we can make

Principal’s Corner
Greetings to the wonderful families of McLaughlin Elementary, it is a great pleasure to be your principal. Thanks to all of you, I feel welcome! We are off to a great school year. All of your students have been very loving and respectful. It is my goal to make sure academic success is happening here at McLaughlin, so please know that I hold ALL staff members to providing a quality to education to your child. As a staff we will strive hard to making sure our School Improvement goals will be met in order for our school to make Adequate Yearly Progress.
I received my Masters Degree from Wayne State University in Educational Leadership. My undergraduate experiences took place at Tennessee State University, where I earned a degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis on Mathematics and Science. I have served as Principal for charter schools and traditional public schools. My most recent position was with Muskegon Heights Public Schools at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary and Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary, Math and Science as Principal. As a teacher, I taught 1st-5th grades all subjects and 6th/7th Science. I am in love with the work that we do with the profession of education. It is my calling on life to make a difference with people that we service all over the world.
