“I’ve come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom.  It’s my personal approach that creates the climate.  It’s my daily mood that makes the weather.  As a teacher, I have a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous.  I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration.  I humiliate or humor, hurt or heal.  In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or dehumanized.”

Greetings Class of 2015,

Welcome to your first year at Bunker Middle School.  This 2008-2009 school year will be the start of something big!  I look forward to meeting and working with all of you and want to help you be successful in our class.

World Studies 6 provides the opportunity to travel through the Western Hemisphere.  Students will stop by the United States,  Canada and Latin America as our ports of call.  We will also focus on the following: The five themes of geography, economics, culture, government, history as well as a global perspective.

Come to class on time, prepared and ready to learn and I'll be ready to learn with you.

Thanks for stopping by,

Mrs. Lane
