Course Overview:

1.     The students will be studying many different genres of literature:

a.     Poetry

b.     Myth

c.     Legends

d.     Memoirs

e.     Drama

f.     Mysteries

g.     Biographies/Autobiographies

2.     During this study, we will have daily reading assignments and periodic quizzes.

3.     The students will be studying different types of writing and will be required to write numerous papers.

4.     The students will study grammar and how to apply it in their writing.

5.     Students will do journal writing, and chapter and book reviews.

 

Grading Policy:

Bunker Middle School has adopted the following grading scale at all grade levels:

100.1 and above = A

93% - 100% = A

90% - 92.9% = A-

87% - 89.9% = B

83% - 86.9% = B

80% - 82.9% = B-

77% - 79.9% = C

73% - 76.9% = C

70% - 72.9% = C-

67% - 69.9% = D

63% - 66.9% = D

60% - 62.9% = D-

0% - 59.9% = F

 

1.     Tests will be worth 50% of the averaged grade.

2.     Class assignments and quizzes are worth 40% of the averaged grade.

3.     Extra Credit includes:

a.     Extra assignments

b.     Class participation

c.     Homework

4.     Late assignments receive one grade mark down each day after the due date (exceptions due to illness). I will accept it the following day for full credit.

5.     Your paper must include proper heading:

a.     Your first and last name

b.     Lang. Arts (L.A.) 2nd hr. etc.,

c.     Today’s date
