Bluffton's Nature Trail

Bluffton's Dune Nature Trail located on the North side of the school has many different plants, a sand dune, and many natural visitors.  The Dune Nature Trail was constructed by the Muskegon High School Conservation Club during the 1990-1991 school year.  The trail continues to be a great educational resource thanks in part to the Bluffton PTO and the Bluffton/Beachwood Neighborhood Association.

The Bluffton Dunes Nature Trail has 4 distinct zones.  There is a Pine Grove Zone where you can find our state tree, The White Pine.  The next zone is the Shrub Zone.  The third zone is the Dune Zone.  This is the most fragile of the four zones.  There is a broadwalk in this zone.  The fourth zone is the Oak Forest Zone.

Bluffton's Nature Trail Visitors

Here you can see just some of the many visitors.  These two deer came to visit on November 6, 2006.  They stayed for many hours and gave the children a great way to observe animals in their natural habitat.
