Mrs. Gifford's room 123, is ready and waiting for school to begin!
I am very excited to have first AND second graders together in our classroom this year. You can plan on us learning so much from each other!
In Reading we will focus on the BIG IDEAS phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension and fluency!
In WRITING we will initially focus on getting the students to LOVE to write, we will write EVERYDAY!
In first grade Math we will work on whole number relationships, addition and subtraction strategies and measurement , just to name a few.
In second grade Math we will work with story problems, adding and subtracting 2 digit problems and work with number lines.
Science and Social Studies also have an important part in our classroom.
